CLASS OF 2023

Congratulations to all of our 2023 scholarship recipients!

Alexa Henson

Alexa is a graduate of Rejoice Christian High School.  She has been involved in many campus activities, as well as sports.  She has been a member of student council, National Honor Society, Homecoming Chairman, Homecoming Queen, soccer manager and the State Academic Champion twice.  She plays basketball, volleyball and runs track.  Alexa was the Volleyball State Runner-up, All-state Select and has been on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll.  Alexa plans to attend Oklahoma State University in the fall and study nutritional science.

Alexa’s scholarship is given in the Memory of Stephen Hicks, brother of Rebekah Zeeuw, a special friend of the Foundation.

Kristin Limerick

Kristin is a graduate of Rejoice Christian High School.  She has a GPA of 4.0 and has been involved in National Honor Society for three years.  Kristin’s volunteer activities include working at the Oklahoma Regional Food Bank and the Tulsa Dream Center.  Kristin also enjoys sports.  In the fall, Kristin plans to attend Oral Roberts University to study pre-med.

Mia Foreman

Mia is a graduate of Rejoice Christian High School.  She has been involved in student council and National Honor Society.  Mia has served as lead vocalist in her worship arts class, helping to plan and coordinate chapel services.  She has also been involved in the youth worship team at Bible Church of Owasso.  Mia plans to study nursing at Tulsa Community College in the fall.  She plans to become either a pediatric nurse or a travel nurse.

Mia’s scholarship is given in honor of Tim Clarke.

Quentin Derby

Quentin is a graduate of Rejoice Christian High School.   He is a member of the National Society of High School Scholars and has played 2nd Chair alto saxophone at Mid-East Oklahoma Band Directors Association both for District and State.  Quentin placed 1st in the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association contest at both the District and State levels.  Outside of music, Quentin has enjoyed playing on the Rejoice Christian Eagles football team.  Quentin will attend Welch College in the fall and study music.

Quentin’s scholarship is given in Memory of Nathan Rosa.

Marissa Smith

Marissa is a graduate of Rejoice Christian High School.  She is a member of the National Honor Society and has bee named an Oklahoma Academic Scholar.  She has also been on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll.  Marissa plans to study either journalism or pre-law in the fall.

Elizabeth “Liz” Lake

Liz is a graduate of Rejoice Christian High School.  She has held numerous leadership positions including Vice President of Operations for the Student Council Executive Board, Student Council Senior Representative, National Honor Society Representative, and Relay for Life Team Captain.  Liz has also been involved in the Vertical Three Truth and Peace Ministry Leadership Conference and the Student Tribe Leadership Program.  Liz has been a volunteer coach for elementary basketball and served as a varsity golf captain.  Liz plans to study social work at Baylor University in the fall.

 

Madelyn “Maddie” Henson

 

Maddie is a graduate of Rejoice Christian High School.  She has served on the Student Council Executive Board and has been involved in National Honor Society.  Maddie has also been on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll and the Principal’s Honor Roll.  In the fall, Maddie plans to attend Welch College to study psychology and theology. 

Maddie’s scholarship is given in Memory of Floyd Jozwiak.

Charles Wendel

Charles is a graduate of Owasso High School.  He has been a member of the Pride of Owasso Band and the Owasso Wind Ensemble.  Charles has been on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll and is a member of the National Honor Society.  He also enjoys playing soccer.  Charles was awarded the Boys Soccer Coach’s Choice Award, as well as the Boys Soccer Player’s Player Award.  His volunteer activities include his service through Freedom Church: hurricane relief, youth band, children’s ministry and chair team.  Charles is also involved in Welcomer’s International, a Christian non-profit group that exists to provide international students & immigrants with the opportunity to meet American friends, spend time in American homes, practice speaking English, & become connected to the community.

Charles’s scholarship is given in memory of Emily Goble.
