Megan has been involved with the Magalassi Foundation since 2017.  She is passionate about suicide prevention because she says, “everyone is affected by it at some point in their life, whether it be directly or indirectly, and I want everyone to know that there is someone out there to help them through whatever may be going on in their lives.”

Megan is currently enrolled at Northeastern State University and is studying Mathematics and Chemistry.

Abram Smith

Abram is a junior at Owasso High School who became involved with the Magalassi Foundation in 2023 and joined the Board in 2024. After participating in suicide prevention training, he wanted to connect the great opportunities of suicide prevention awareness to other students. Abram believes that understanding the necessary steps to take in a difficult situation is the best prevention.

After high school, Abram is looking to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering and participate in research. He is a Christ-follower and active member of Owasso First Methodist Church, and outside of school, he plays violin and golf.

Kristi joined the Magalassi Foundation in 2009 embracing the movement to promote suicide prevention awareness in our communities. She believes strongly in the importance of generating an understanding of mental health and in breaking the stigma associated with it.  Providing dialogues that let others know they are not alone and should not feel shame in asking for help, can give the gift of another day. Equally as important to Kristi is the importance of educating our youth of the impact their words and actions have on their peers. Letting others know they are valued can be as simple as acknowledging them with a smile.

Kristi is a former elementary school teacher and currently works as an accountant and business operations manager for small companies.  She has three children who have all graduated from the Owasso Public School system.
